Touring with The Pink Fits and more…

March 15th, 2009

Adelaide on Friday night was a lotta fun as usual. Leader Cheetah and The Yearlings were fabbo to say the least. We’ll have a full wrap of this show and upcoming dates over the coming weeks.

This Friday night, 20 March at the Tote in Melbourne, we begin our tour with one of Australia’s best live bands, The Pink Fits!

Featuring ex-members of legendary Australian bands Tumbleweed and Asteroid B-612, you may have seen The Pink Fits support The BellRays and The Stems in recent times. But if this tour is to be your first taste, then boy are you in for a treat!

Joining us for these dates will be Melbourne’s own garage-surf-blues maestros, Midnight Woolf.

See the flyer below for details.

But first of all…

We play the National Hotel in Geelong this Thursday, 19 March with hometown heroes, The Frowning Clouds. $10 on the door.

New tour begins this Friday, 13 March!

March 10th, 2009

Not content to sit on our arses in Melbourne, we’re packing the station wagon and heading to all parts north, west and south over the Autumn months.

First up is Jive in Adelaide this Friday, 13 March, with the great Leader Cheetah (whose debut record ‘The Sunspot Letters’ is this week’s Triple J Feature Album) and The Yearlings.

See the Tour page for all dates.

Chris and Mikey play Phoenix Bushfire Fundraiser this Sunday, 1 March

February 24th, 2009

Last Sunday’s Rock4Bushfires fundraiser at Yah Yah’s was a huge success: over $2,000 was raised for the Australian Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund. Thank you to all those involved in organising the night, and to everyone who came along and chipped in.

This coming Sunday night, 1 March, sees Chris and Mikey strap on the guitars again for the bushfire fundraising effort. They’re headlining a great bill that includes Tracy McNeil and The Idle Hoes at the Wesley Anne in Northcote. Chris and Mikey are on-stage at 9:40 pm.

The Wesley Anne show is one of many Phoenix Bushfires Appeal gigs being held across Melbourne this Sunday (see flyer below). This week’s new bushfires underscore the ongoing threat of such disasters, and that extra donations never go unwanted.

Espy gig this Friday, 6 February

February 4th, 2009

We’re headlining the Espy front Bar this Friday night – entry is free!

We have some great supports for the show: The Fearless Vampire Killers (arguably the best young live band going ’round), and Sydney-siders Sister Jane, who feature Liam Judson from the great Belles Will Ring.

There’s also a fourth, as yet unannounced, band on the bill. Who could it be?!?!
